Sig Sauer produce firearms such as Blaster Rifles, Mauser, Sauer & Sohn, Swiss Arms and Machine Guns, however on top of this they also have an extensive collection of handguns, this collection includes at least 15 different models, some of which have their own series, such as the SIG Pro series, which includes models such as SP 2009, SP 2022 and SP 2340, but that’s not all. Some of these handguns have in fact been adopted by the US Military, such as the SIG P228. Some of the other models in this collection include, SIG P210, SIG P220, SIG P225 and the SIG P245. As well as models of firearms such as these being world renowned, they also stand as the number one choice by law enforcement, international military and commercial users.

As many as one in three enforcement professionals use SIG SAUER firearms. What this means is that the quality and reliability of said firearms is tested every day. Law enforcement needs to ensure that their firearms are of a high standard due to the unfortunate chance they might need to use them. This demonstrates the faith and trust that is placed within the Sig Sauer brand as it is through this brand that many law enforcement professionals gain protection.

So with the above in mind, where exactly did the Sig Sauer brand emerge from and what makes it the weapon of choice for such a high amount of law enforcement professionals? Well in 1985 the SIGARMS brand was created in Tysons Corner, Virginia, this was done as a means of importing SIG firearms such as the P220 and P230, but that’s not all, in 1987 SIGARMS was moved to Herndon, Virginia and then onto Exeter, New Hampshire in 1990. It was however back in 2000 when SIGARMS and its European sister companies Sauer and Sohn, Blaser, Mauser and Swiss Arms were brought by Micheal Lüke and Thomas Ortmeier. Since this buy out, Sig Sauer currently stands as the largest of the five companies and also one of the largest firearms manufacturers in the world.

Sig Sauer has grown to be that big that in 2005, they expanded their operations and sales by an increase of almost 50% and on top of this Sig Sauer also runs a firearms training school called the SIG SAUER Academy, in Epping, New Hampshire.

It is due to all of the above that this choice of firearm is as popular as it is, not to mention the fact each individual gun is beautifully handcrafted. So regardless of whether you are a professional or enthusiast, you may wish to familiarise yourself with a Sig Sauer model, as they are a must have in terms of firearms.
